Roy Vernon Vandiver

Roy Vernon Vandiver, 48, of Algoa, departed this life Sunday, December 4, 2016 at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was born January 7, 1968 in Newport, Arkansas, a son of Robert and Lauril Genette (Dyer) Vandiver. Roy was a farmer. He was a very quiet man, but when he had something to say, he said it loud and clear. He loved his family. He enjoyed taking care of his brother and sisters, and he took care of his mom until she passed away. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing video games, riding motorcycles, and going out to the woods to shoot his gun. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lauril Genette (Dyer) Vandiver; one sister in law, Leonna Vandiver; two aunts, Betty Kimberling and Dovie Dyer; and one uncle, Sam Dyer. Roy is survived by his father, Robert Vandiver; one brother, Robert Lee Vandiver Jr. of Diaz; four sisters, Sharon Lee Cox of Diaz, Genette Brumley and husband Allen of Amagon, Melissa Sanders and husband Lewis of Amagon, and Tammy Lynn White and husband Ricky of Amagon; one uncle, Ronnie Dyer; eight nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at Jesus is Lord Family Worship Center at Jacksonport. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, December 8, 2016 at 1:00 p.m.at Jesus is Lord Family Worship Center at Jacksonport with Bro. Leon Tidwell officiating.
