David Lavon Chambliss

David Lavon Chambliss, 74, of Bradford, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 12, 2017. He was born July 4, 1943 in Union Hill, Arkansas, a son of the late Elbert Virgil and Jacquline Iris (Altom) Chambliss. On November 15, 1963 David married Patricia (Carter) Chambliss and together they raised four children. David was a member of Possum Grape Church of Christ. David was a truck driver. He spent most of his time on the road. David drove for Wal-Mart for 26 years until his retirement. His CB handle was Scar Face. David loved his family. He was very fond of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. David wrote stories about his life growing up. Those stories were published weekly in the Bald Knob Banner. David enjoyed taking walks around town and visiting with everyone he ran into. David never met a stranger. He enjoyed helping other people. David liked to tinker on old vehicles, and was a movie buff. He will be missed greatly by his family, friends, and community. Left to cherish David's memory is his wife of 54 years, Patricia Ann (Carter) Chambliss; three daughters, Lisa Ann Dillinger and husband Neil of Noblesville, Indiana, Missy Pollard and husband Jim of Bradford, and Stephanie Metcalf and husband Eddie of Bradford; one son, Joshua Chambliss and wife Lindsey of Searcy; twelve grandchildren, Jessica Panaich, Robert Dillinger, Cody Metcalf, Destiny Smith, Ethan Pollard, Noah Pollard, Dakota Metcalf, Cloyee Chambliss, Jax Chambliss, Blakely Cook, Cade Cook, and Livie Cook; three great-grandchildren, Anslee Wyatt, Prairie Smith, and Parker Dillinger; one brother, Delbert Chambliss and wife Ruth of Cave Springs; one sister, Linda Wilson and husband Craig of Thida; and many other family members and friends. In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by two nephews, Jeremy Chambliss, and Floyd Stewart Jr. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Jesse Chambliss, Cody Metcalf, Ethan Pollard, Robby Dillinger, Noah Pollard and Michael Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Delbert Miesen, Anslee Wyatt, Jax Chambliss, Cade Cook, Scott Chambliss, Bryan Wilson, and Russ Lemons. Visitation will be held Friday, July 14, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Bradford Memorial Funeral Home in Bradford, Arkansas. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Bradford Church of Christ in Bradford, Arkansas with Bro. Danny Blevins and Robby Dillinger officiating.
