Carl Burruss

April 23, 1934 - June 2, 2022

Carl Burruss, 88, of Bradford passed from this life June 2, 2022 in Batesville. He was born April 23, 1934 in the Oakland Community in Bradford to the late Hugh and Lucille (Bright) Burruss. Carl loved farming. He enjoyed cows, hay, tractors, and enjoyed working on tractors. He enjoyed rodeos and spent several years working behind the scenes at the rodeos. In the late 1990’s, he was recognized as the ACA Cowboy of The Year. Carl loved going to and participating in the chuckwagon races. He was one of the original founding members of the Chuck Wagon Association and he raced until the age of 70. Carl was faithful to as many basketball, baseball, and softball games as he could attend. Carl worked for Norandal USA Inc. for 45 years and the last 25 years, he served as the maintenance supervisor. He loved his family and was a member of Bradford Baptist Church. He is survived by his children, Ina Clark (Mike), Cissy Diemer (David), Carla Crowder (Mark), Billy Burruss (Dara), and Scott Burruss (Michelle); grandchildren, Shannon, Sarah, Andrew, Rachelle, Colton, Katie, Allison, Carlie, Eli, Brooklyn, Garrett, Grace, and Laura; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Ashlynn, Beckett, Reece, Silas, Mason, Riley, Hendrix, Wyatt, Thatcher, and Keaton; a great-great grandchild, Rosaleigh Idamae; a sister, Toni Karen Chapman (Jeff); and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Ida Ruth (Johnson) Burruss. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Oakland Cemetery at 2817 Jackson 2 Bradford, AR 72020. Visitation is from 6-8pm Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Bradford Memorial Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will be 3pm, Sunday, June 5, 2022 at Oakland Cemetery in Bradford, Arkansas.
