Our History

Bradford Memorial Funeral Home was established and opened December 2013 by Cynthia Medlock.  Cynthia has worked hard to build a successful, dependable, trustworthy establishment and equip the Funeral Home with a staff that reflects her values.  The over all goal and desire of all of us at Bradford Memorial Funeral Home is to offer families in their darkest hours a sense of peace, comfort, and some direction to make it through the loss of their loved one.  We strive to provide dependable, respectful funeral and cremation services at an affordable price without losing any value.  


Our Valued Staff

Cynthia Juanita Medlock

Cynthia Juanita Medlock, Owner

Cynthia is not only the owner of the funeral home but also our friend. She and her husband JC are outstanding and involved members of the Bradford community and are supportive of local businesses, schools, and churches. From the age of 15, Cynthia has been a resident of Bradford and in 2003 she married JC Medlock. Cynthia and JC own and operate Bradford Memorial Funeral Home, J&J Transport trucking company, and Bradford Feed and Supply hardware store. She is a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Bradford and enjoys flower gardening, shopping, spending time with her kids, and hanging out with her friends. Most of all she likes helping people. She and JC have five children Jason, Ashley, Micheal, Makiyla, and John.


James L. Vanoven III

James L. Vanoven III, Funeral Director/Manager

James is a vital part of our team at Bradford Memorial Funeral Home. He is not a stranger to the Bradford and is a 1999 graduate of Midland High School in Pleasant Plains. James grew up on the family farm in Hickory Flat where he spent his time hunting, fishing, mechanicing, and doing anything else he could find to do outside. James is the pastor of Highway Baptist Church in Judsonia. James is a gun lover, musician, and never seems to meet a stranger. He and his wife Stacy currently live in Beebe with their children Gabrielle, Jackson, Emma, and Whitney. Oh, and their dog Bentley.


Deanna Ybanez

Deanna Ybanez, Funeral Director

Dee is a McCrory native who currently lives in Bradford with her husband Willie and three children Gauge, Dylan, and Danny. She is a 1991 graduate of McCrory High School. She attended technical school in Newport with a degree in accounting. She enjoys yard saling, "junking", and is a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Bradford.


Shane Blevins

Shane Blevins, Funeral Assistant

Shane is a 1997 graduate of Bradford High School. He is the minister at Crossroads Church of Christ. In 2000 he married Julia and together they have three children Matthew, Maggie, Morgan. Shane enjoys fishing, hunting, camping, open fire cooking, and basically any outdoor activity. He is currently serving a funeral directors apprenticeship and is enrolled at Harding University pursuing a bachelors degree in ministry.


Jan Bailey

Jan Bailey, Funeral Assistant/Preneed Specialist

Jan lives in Newport and is married to Larry Bailey. She has 5 children, 14 grandchildren, and 7&1/2 great-grandchildren(One due in July). She received a BA in Business Management from ASU. Jan is very involved at Jesus is Lord Worship Center in Jacksonport where she serves as a Sunday School teacher for the adults, President of the Ladies Ministry and Tuesday night Bible Study. She enjoys cooking for her family, being a part of church pot luck meals, fishing, reading, and making silk flower arrangements. Jan loves being able to serve people in their time of need.
